GEELONG AFL MASTERS – AUSTRALIAN RULES FOOTBALL FOR OVER 35’s
Geelong AFL Masters Inc. is an affiliated member of the Victorian Country Masters Australian Football League (VCMAF) & Masters Australian Football (MAF). MAF is affiliated with the AFL and is known as AFL Masters.
The Geelong AFL Masters Football Club is based at Thompson Football Club, Godfrey St. East Geelong. – Melways Map Ref. No. 452 F8 View Map
Training is on Thursday Evenings from 5.00pm til 6.30 pm approx. at Thompson.
Playing strip is the same as the Geelong Football Club, ie. Navy & White hoops with navy shorts and socks.
In season 2012 Geelong will have one team represented in the Victorian Country Masters AFL O35 Competition.
2012 also see’s the introduction of the O47’s competition into the the Victorian Country Masters AFL competition (up until this season they had to compete in the Victorian Metro Competition) This is a big step for the league and will see more games fixtured together between the O35’s & O47’s as more teams introduce their own O47’s teams.
Games are played on Sunday afternoons fortnightly (home & away) during a 10 round season.
There are no ladders or finals played in Victorian Country Masters AFL competition. However all games are extremely competitive but played in great spirit and afterwards both teams get together to have a few cold beers in a very social atmosphere.
Family involvement is encouraged at Geelong AFL Masters and we are actively seeking new players & members to bulster our stocks to remain competitive in an extremely strong league.
